Mondrian is an Abstract Journey Through Video Game Art

The puzzle genre is packed with titles of all sorts, meaning it’s often hard to stand out. Lantana Games have managed to create something distinct with Mondrian – Abstraction in Beauty.

As the name implies, there’s a stylistic connection to its visual appearance and the “De Stijl” art movement headed by the likes of Piet Mondrian. They use color and form in similar ways, but instead of presenting classic artwork, are showcasing the history of game artwork.

This is all the aesthetic for what is essentially a block-breaking game. Mondrian – Abstraction in Beauty take the retro gameplay formula, allows for 360 degrees of movement, and is just mesmerizing to look at. It’s available on Steam  for the discounted price of $6.29 if you buy before September 28. You can also purchase via or IndieGameStand.
